Technology Infrastructure
Upon graduation in Architecture from Oxford Brookes University in United Kingdom, he started his career with the Halcrow Group, UK and worked on projects in the UK, Asia and the Middle East. Upon returning to Malaysia in 1994, he has held positions at AJM, a premiere architecture outfit as well as IGD (Integrated Geographic Design), a GIS and virtualization company, and worked on the initial planning concepts of the designated Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC).
He later co-founded FOCUS, an architectural planning & design company in 1995 and then became managing director of Manis Coco Sdn Bhd, a creative and design group with a primary focus on the digital and media industry. Manis Coco is the creative and content partner to Wargamedia, the founder of KLIX (Kuala Lumpur Internet Exchange) project. In 1997, Manis Coco worked closely with Digital Equipment Corporation's Network Systems Research Laboratory and the Palo Alto Internet Exchange (PAIX). Manis Coco was a partner to ITV.Net, Los Angeles. They carried out the first webcast IAP event for MDC in 1998.
In 1999, he was the founder/CEO of VtoV.com Inc, in California, USA. (Board of directors and advisors, includes John Gee (formerly a director of NASA Technology Incubation Centre), Avtar Hari Khalsa (former President TimeLife), Curt Lewis (SVP, Marketing, QWEST), Dennis Fernandez (Technology Patent Expert), & Christopher Lawford Kennedy (Actor & Producer). Shah returned to Malaysia in 2002 and was a Resident Consultant to Macroworks PMC, and subsequently held roles at Unisay Sdn Bhd, Biofriendly Corp (USA), MDeC, DiGi Telecommunications, Tricubes Berhad, DTA Capital - a Mavcap venture capital company (Independent Investment Committee Member), & Persoft Systems (Microsoft Partner).
He also participated at several of Stanford’s Roundtable for Entrepreneurship in Education (REE) by Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) and member of the founding team and head judge for DiGi’s Challenge for Change (C4C) Competition. His current focus is in digital infrastructure for Smart Cities involving technology collaboration and investments.
